Presidents Cup Final
Goal Post
Crosfields won the Mid Cheshire Presidents cup on sat with an excellent hard working team performance. Playing against a young talented Woodley side Crosfields broke the deadlock after 35 minutes when Andy Moore through on goal was hacked down from behind resulting in a penalty and a red card for the Woodley defender. Steve Saunders dispatched the penalty to make the score 1.0. With a man advantage Crosfields began to dominate and the excellent Neil Muttock doubled the lead shortly before half time. The second half began with Woodley asking questions of the Crosfields back line, but the defence superbly marshalled by the outstanding Scott Swainbank were rarely troubled. However, with 15 minutes remaining Woodley were given a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty which they dispatched to make the score line 2.1. This inspired Crosfields to search for a 3rd goal with Moore and Swainbank going close before with 5 minutes remaining Adam Rosterne rounded the keeper and slotted home to secure the cup for the Hood lane men. In the final minute Paul Yates almost added a 4th narrowly missing the target from 20yrds. After what was an excellent team performance manager Andrew Moore would like to thank all the players involved for their excellent contribution throughout the 2006-07 season.
